The French company Schneider Electric, which specialises in technological solutions for the energy sector, is to open a technology centre in the 22@ district, where the firm already has its headquarters in Spain.

Josu Ugarte, president of Schneider in the Iberia region, recognises the potential of the city of Barcelona to attract digital talent, as well as the large ecosystem of star-ups and benchmark IT companies.

The opening of this new space will mean the hiring of more than 200 people during 2022, bringing the total number of employees to around 500. Its main objective will be to lead the company’s digital transformations, driving data analysis, work in the cloud and e-commerce.
