In the first eight months of 2019, the Port of Barcelona channelled a total of 2.28 million TEUs (twenty-foot equivalent units) which works out as 1.3% growth in container traffic. In this respect, we should highlight trade with Saudi Arabia (+11.4%), Japan (+7.2%), Egypt (+6.2%), the USA (+5.5%), Turkey (+4.8%) and China (+4.4%), with a traffic of 229,984 TEUs. Furthermore, up until August, the Port of Barcelona saw the arrival of 3.16 million passengers, up 5.4% from the same period in 2018
