Barcelona-El Prat Airport, the sixth EU airport in terms of number of passengers, nowadays has a capacity for a total of 55m passengers and this maximum capacity it is forecast to be reached this year 2019. AENA recently announced the planned investment for Barcelona’s airport between 2022 and 2026, which will be of €690m and will be used to build a satellite terminal, a new aircraft parking apron and a new carpark building connected to the rest of the terminals. The intention is to reach 70m passengers that year 2026.
