Hospitalet de Llobregat – PDU Granvia–Llobregat
This plan is part of the metropolitan strategic transformation of the access to Barcelona from the Airport. The first transformation stage -Granvia and Plaça Europa- has become an essential element of economic centrality for Barcelona metropolitan area. At present, 40% of the 75,527 jobs in the city are located in this new economic district. This has consolidated l’Hospitalet as the second local economy of Catalonia. The Pla Granvia-Llobregat is the final transformation stage, which will allow the economic district of the city to extend to the Llobregat River, linking in its path the Bellvitge biomedical cluster -more than 50 biomedical research groups and 1,000 researchers-. The 632,058 m2 of roof area for new economic activity (30% commercial and 13% hotel), with the potential to create 20,000 new jobs, will make this one of the most dynamic districts in the central area of Barcelona.
