During November 2022, the sale and purchase of homes in Catalonia increased by 19% compared to the same month of the previous year. This percentage is above the national average for Spain, which was 10.8%. In total, 8,822 home sales and purchases were carried out in Catalonia during this period, according to the INE. 

In Spain as a whole, the number of sales and purchases rose to 55,132, which is the best figure recorded since 2007. This increase represents 21 months of rises in Spain and a growth of 17%.

According to the Statistics on Transfers of Property Rights of the National Institute of Statistics, Catalonia closed the year 2022 with a total of 102,108 home sales and purchases, which represents an increase of 14.5% compared to the previous year. It is worth noting that this is the first time in the last fifteen years that the threshold of 100,000 transactions has been exceeded. The year-on-year increase in Catalonia was in line with the national average, which was 14.7%.
