The Board of Directors of the Port of Barcelona has approved the tender for the superstructure works for the third phase of the extension of the Adossat quay. This important investment has a base budget of seven million euros, excluding IVA, and its main objective is the construction of 631 metres of promenade, as well as the installation of various port facilities such as scales, water service networks, telecommunications, medium voltage connection and drainage network.

The estimated execution period for these works is six months, as reported by the port authority. The purpose of this extension is to prepare the Adossat quay for the future construction of the MSC cruise terminal and the Ro-Pax terminal, as established in the agreement signed with Barcelona City Council in 2018.

Once the works have been completed, the concessionary companies will be responsible for the development of the area and the installation of the necessary infrastructure to ensure its full operation.

The work to extend the Adossat quay at the Port of Barcelona includes the superstructure needed to install a medium-voltage network, which will enable electricity to be supplied to ships in accordance with the Nexigen quay electrification project. With this extension, the port seeks to strengthen its position as one of the leading ports in the Mediterranean, reaffirming its commitment to the modernisation and sustainability of its port facilities.
