Carles Navarro, the general manager of BASF Spain, announced this during the annual results presentation. He commented that Spain plays an important strategic role on the company’s gloal map.

Two locations in the Spanish territory will increase their activities. On the one hand, the center of production in Tarragona, which houses the engineering unit. And on the other hand, Madrid, will take advantage of the synergy with our main partners in the projects of naïveness in the country. One important point in these two new projects is the creation of new jobs, in both locations.

During this 2023, the group will invest some 43 million euros in Spain to improve facilities and processes. In digital transformation, Spain ratified its strategic position in 2022. In Tarragona, at the production center, it has continued to advance with its own private red 5G facility, becoming one of the first companies in Spain, and pioneering chemistry to receive a 5G spectrum of its own to operate.
