Tech Barcelona and the Government of Catalonia have presented Pier07, a new hub for business innovation in the field of life and health sciences.

The initiative has been supported by ACCIÓ-Catalunya Trade . Investment, which has allocated ,125,000 to the promotion of the project. The headquarters, located in Via Laietana de Barcelona, has been inaugurated by the Minister of Health, Manel Balcells, the Secretary of Business and Competitiveness and the Director General of ACCIÓ-Catalunya Trade . Investment, Albert Castellanos, the President of Tech Barcelona, Miguel Vicente, the CEO of the entity, Miquel Martí.

The entrepreneurial innovation hub Pier07 is intended to boost innovation in the field of health and life sciences, and it becomes a key space for the development of projects in these sectors in the city of Barcelona.

During the inauguration of Pier07, Tech Barcelona president Miguel Vicente noted that “this space represents a unique opportunity for the creation and consolidation of companies in the health sector, as well as to encourage collaboration and innovation among the various agents of the ecosystem”. In addition, he noted that, “from Tech Barcelona we are committed to promoting entrepreneurial growth and entrepreneurship, and Pier07 is an example of this”.

The Secretary of Enterprise and Competitiveness and Director General of ACCIÓ-Catalunya Trade In Investement, Albert Castellanos, has also highlighted the importance of this new hub, stating that “Pier07 is a benchmark in the life and health sciences sector, and its typology has proved very effective in accelerating business development in this area”. He also stressed the contribution of this project to consolidating and projecting Barcelona as an innovative and dynamic city.

For its part, the Health Minister, Manuel Balcells, has subtracted the upsurge in having a space like Pier07, which allows technological advances in the field of health to be put into practice and people’s quality of life to be improved. “The Health . Life Sciences sector is a fundamental pillar of our economy, and with initiatives like this we can continue to drive its growth and its positive impact on society,” she said.
