The Department of Economy and Finance of the Generalitat de Catalunya has approved a momentous project to transform part of the emblematic Barcelona Stock Exchange building into a dynamic financial center. Cospace SL, selected after a rigorous competitive bidding process, will lead this strategic initiative.

The upper floors of the building, located at Paseo de Gracia number 19 and owned by the Generalitat, will be refurbished as specialized offices to promote financial projects. This measure is aligned with the objective of strengthening financial services linked to technology, sustainable finance and investment entrepreneurship, both locally and internationally. The Generalitat supports this project by transferring the use of floors 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9 to Cospace SL for six years (2024-2029) in exchange for an in-kind subsidy.

This real estate project also represents a strategic move to position Barcelona as an international center for sustainable finance, reconfiguring the building to house the Associació Barcelona Center Financer Europeu (BCFE) and the BCFE4S. The investment by Cospace SL, together with the 224,240 euros annually paid to the Catalan administration, promises to enhance the Catalan capital as the epicenter of a dynamic global financial ecosystem.
