The Chinese textile company Shanghai Jingqingrong Garment will open its first production plant outside China, located in Catalonia, with an investment of 3 million euros and the creation of approximately 30 jobs. This project has the support of the Government through ACCIÓ. The plant, located in Barcelona (Ripollet), is in the process of adaptation, and the production of knitted products is expected to begin in the first half of 2024.

Roger Torrent, Minister of Business and Labor, highlights the strategic choice of Catalonia by Chinese companies for their expansion, with more than 1,000 million euros invested in the last five years and generating 2,000 jobs. In this context, Shanghai Jingqingrong Garment, founded in 2004 and specialized in global clothing design and distribution, is an example of growing Chinese investment in Catalonia, contributing to a total foreign investment of 1,164 million euros.
