The unemployment rate stands at 8.5%, with a total of 345,000 people looking for work at the end of September.

According to the latest Labour Force Survey (EPA) report by the national statistics institute, Catalonia closed the third quarter with a new employment record: more than 3.71 million people in work between July and September, more than 62,400 new jobs compared to the previous quarter.

The only sector in which the number of unemployed has increased is industry (from 4,100 to 25,400). The services sector still accounts for more unemployed than any other sector, with 131,700.
