Penguin Random House Grupo Editorial, a leader in publishing and distributing books, has recently inaugurated its new book distribution centre in Cerdanyola del Vallès, Barcelona, further consolidating its leadership in both the publishing and logistics sectors worldwide.

The group has invested €36 million in this new 42,000 m2 facility, which is regarded as the most advanced of its kind in Europe.  Equipped with cutting-edge technology, the centre will significantly enhance the publisher’s logistics operations, allowing it to manage over 40 million copies annually.

At the inauguration of the new facilities, the company highlighted the strength of Catalonia’s publishing sector, which accounts for 54.1% of total industry turnover in Spain. The new centre further strengthens Catalonia’s role as a key logistics hub within Europe’s cultural industry.

According to the company, Barcelona (Cerdanyola del Vallès) was chosen as the location for the new centre for its strategic position within the metropolitan area and excellent connections to the rest of Spain and Europe. Its proximity to major transport infrastructures allows for faster delivery times and better national and international distribution.

Penguin Random House Grupo Editorial, a leader in publishing and distributing books, is part of the international Penguin Random House group, based in New York and founded by Bertelsmann in 2013.
