Barcelona’s 22@ technology district, which is consolidating its place as a hub for businesses and innovation, expects to create 25,000 new jobs over the next four years, according to the heads of the 22@Network association of businesses in the district. Over 15 years since it was first created, it continues to attract investors, entrepreneurs, large multinational corporations and developers, the latter attracted by real estate growth in the district that, according to a study by consultancy firm Cushman&Wakefield, expects to see construction of up to 4 million square metres of space, 3.2 million of which for office use.
