The American logistics developer Mountpark has landed in the Catalan market by acquiring a 92,000 square meter plot in El Pla de Santa Maria, Tarragona. Its plan includes the construction of a 56,000-square-meter building with 56 loading docks, designed for eventual division into two independent structures.

The strategic location of the plot, near the Barcelona, Zaragoza, Madrid axis and less than a kilometer from the AP2 motorway, ensures optimal connectivity with the regional transport network. In addition, it is 36 km from Tarragona, a city that is part of the Mediterranean Corridor.

On the other hand, according to CBRE, the investment prospects in the logistics sector for 2024 project an increase of 10% compared to 2023. Factors such as the typology of the warehouse, its location, technology and sustainability influence the demand for logistics assets in Spain, as highlighted at the CBRE Trends in Industrial and Logistics event.

Mountpark, through its joint venture with Affinius Capital, aims to develop cutting-edge logistics buildings in Europe, with a particular focus on the United Kingdom and Western and Central Europe. With this project in Tarragona, it will add 245,000 square meters of development in Spain, in addition to its operations in Illescas (Toledo).
