International Airlines Group (IAG), owner of airlines such as Iberia, British Airways and Vueling, has announced the opening of an artificial intelligence laboratory in Barcelona.

This center will bring together 150 specialists and strengthen their leadership in innovation in the airline industry.

The decision reinforces the growth of the artificial intelligence sector in Catalonia, which has seen the number of companies triple since 2019 and generates 2,155 million euros in revenue.

IAG also highlights its economic impact in Catalonia, contributing 6,043 million euros to GDP and supporting more than 81,000 jobs.
