In the second quarter of 2024, the logistics market of Catalonia showed a strong rebound with a total contract of 152,082 m2, highlighting an increase of 69% compared to the previous quarter and an impressive increase of 66% compared to the same period last year, according to the recent Forcadell report.

The analysis by area reveals that the peripheral areas of Barcelona, especially the second and third rings, were the most active in terms of hiring.

The report also highlights that 65% of the contracted space corresponded to newly built or turnkey warehouses, evidencing a continuous absorption of new surface in the market. Regarding rents, stability is observed after several quarters of decline, although growth is anticipated with the addition of new stock to the market in the coming quarters.

Gerard Plana, director of Industrial-Logistics at Forcadell, highlights the importance of this data to revitalize a sector that had experienced a prolonged slowdown in hiring.
