Catalonia leads the panorama of technology hubs with 140 centers in 2023, marking an increase of 11% compared to the previous year, according to the Tech Hubs Overview report by Mobile World Capital Barcelona, supported by the Catalan Government and Barcelona City Council.

Catalonia has inaugurated fourteen new hubs in 2023, especially in areas such as health, mobility and entertainment. Investment has grown significantly in technologies applied to health, while video games represent close to 20% of the Catalan ecosystem. Barcelona concentrates 76% of the hubs, with 22@ being its epicenter, attracting companies due to its multidisciplinary talent, high local level, business and industrial ecosystem, and strategic geographical location.

These hubs employ more than 26 thousand people, an increase of 5%, with an average workforce that has gone from 168 to 203 people in one year and an increase in business volume of 25%, reaching 2.5 million euros annual.

It is expected that by 2026, the sector will exceed 36 thousand professionals and 3.6 million euros in turnover.
