  • CIM Llobregat will be located in Abrera, near the Seat factory in Martorell.
  • This privileged location has great connections via the A2, AP-7 and the Fourth Beltway.

The Government of Catalonia has given CIM Llobregat the green light. This new CIM will be located in Abrera, near the Seat factory in Martorell. It will serve the automotive sector and occupy 122.5 hectares. Logistics demand for the CIM Llobregat is well documented.

Cimalsa, which is responsible for building and managing transport and logistics centers and facilities, will seek out a public-private partnership to build the CIM Llobregat, a neuralgic distribution hub that aims to match the level of the CIM Vallès. This was explained by the heads of the public company after the Commission for Territorial Policy and Urban Planning of Catalonia recently approved drafting of the Urban Development Master Plan (PDU) for economic activity in Baix Llobregat Nord. This PDU will create a new business sector and deal with the area’s connectivity and environmental conservation.

Drafting and approval of the PDU could be finished by late 2016. After that, the urban development of CIM Llobregat would begin and conversations have already been held with several companies interested in assuming the cost of urbanizing the area in which they expect to operate in the future.

In terms of location, this is a privileged area given its territorial position, proximity to the metropolitan area and connectivity. When it is finished, the CIM Llobregat will be connected via the A2, AP-7 and Fourth Beltway, a road the Ministry of Public Works and Transport expects to resume construction on from Olesa to Viladecavalls in the near future.
