The consultancy firm Cushman & Wakefield has published its forecast figures for the real estate sector, according to its data, investment in the sector stands at 10,500 million euros in Spain.

Barcelona has been placed at the top of national investment, with a total of 2,974 million euros this year, surpassing Madrid, which closed the year with a total investment of 2,063 million euros.

According to the consultancy’s data, the investment market in Barcelona owes its success to the office segment, mainly in the 22@ district, which has generated an investment of €1,995 million, representing an increase of 164.2% compared to 2020 and 13.4% compared to 2019. The highest figure in the city since 2007.

In terms of investor profile, foreign buyers continue to dominate investment, accounting for more than 70% of the volume of transactions, although domestic investors have become more important than last year.
