Barcelona airport has reached a historical record in the first half of 2024, according to data published by AENA. During this period, it received a total of 26,090,602 passengers, marking an increase of 12.9% compared to 2023 and 5.1% compared to 2019.

In June 2024 alone, the airport served 5,056,923 passengers. Of the total, 3,761,682 passengers were international and 1,284,338 were national.

In terms of operations, Barcelona-El Prat managed a total of 166,984 flights between takeoffs and landings during the first six months of the year, including 31,365 operations in June alone.

Despite the success, Madrid airport continues to be the leader in Spain.
