In March, Barcelona Airport recorded a record of 4.2 million passengers, an increase of 13.8% compared to the previous year, according to data from Aena. This marks the fifth consecutive month of record numbers. Of these, more than 4 million were on commercial flights, with a 17.5% increase in international flights and a 4.9% increase in domestic flights compared to 2023.

Compared to March 2019, before the pandemic, the increase was 7.9%. Madrid led the traffic in Spain with over 5.3 million passengers, a 10.8% increase from 2023. There were over 27 thousand take-offs and landings in Barcelona, an 11.7% increase from the previous year.

In total, in the first quarter of the year, Barcelona Airport has moved more than 11 million passengers, an increase of 14.7% compared to 2023. Additionally, 15,345 tons of goods were transported in March, a 13.5% increase from 2023, and a total of 43,693 tons in 2024, a 12.7% increase from the previous year.
