Advanced Factories 2025 will take place in Barcelona from 8 to 10 April. Now in its ninth edition, the event is considered the most important industrial trade fair in Southern Europe and a major international reference point. This year’s edition will explore the latest trends in industrial automation and robotics, and finish off with the Industry 4.0 Congress.

This year’s event, focusing on how AI impacts optimisation of industrial production, will be held at the Fira de Barcelona Gran Via fairgrounds. It is expected to attract 30,000 visitors, with roughly 700 exhibitors from more than 9,000 industrial companies, and over 1,000 industrial innovations on display.

With the theme “Redefining Automation with Green Tech”, this year’s Advanced Factories will address key challenges such as decarbonisation, competitiveness, productivity, funding and attracting talent.

The industrial sector plays a key role in Catalonia’s economy, currently accounting for roughly 19% and aiming to grow progressively to 25%. Robotics is becoming increasingly prominent in the sector. Globally, more than half a million industrial robots have been installed in factories for the third year in a row, driven mainly by electric vehicle production.

Advanced Factories will not be the only major event held during these days. The biennial Advanced Machine Tools (AMT), now in its second edition, will also return and is expected to attract 17,000 visitors, with 450 new products and 180 exhibitors. Together, the two events aim to bring in more than 37,000 professionals.
