According to a study on artificial intelligence in Catalonia compiled by ACCIÓ and the Ministry for Digital Policy and Public Administration, Catalonia has 179 companies working in artificial intelligence and they now employ 8,483 workers. Although this technology is still in the early stages, aggregate revenue is already €1.358 billion. Artificial intelligence encompasses technology that gives machines the cognitive abilities of human beings so they can make automated decisions by compiling and processing large amounts of data.
