According to the report The Textile Trade in Figures published by Acotex with figures from Tax Free, 50% of all luxury purchases made in Spain by non-EU tourists were in Barcelona, surpassing Madrid (33%) and Malaga (6%). In terms of the volume of purchases, Chinese tourists made 33% of all these transactions, followed by Argentinian and Russian visitors (7%). The most significant increases came from tourists from the United States (+11%) and Mexico (+4%). By category, fashion and accessories made up 61% of the total, while jewellery and watches were 24% of the total.
