Galderma has established the offices for its Global Capacity Centre in the Colonial building on Avinguda Diagonal in Barcelona. The new facilities, with 1,500 square metres of space, will support business growth in its areas of activity, including research and development (R&D) and ICT, among others.

This space will also be used as a centre to attract and manage talent in the group globally, this Swiss multinational corporation’s only one in Europe. Roughly 150 people will work at the centre and Barcelona was chosen for the city’s ecosystem of start-ups, ability to attract highly educated local talent and quality of life.

Galderma has three lines of business: therapeutic dermatology, injectable aesthetics and dermatological skincare. The company has more than 6,500 professionals on staff, is present in 100 countries and has factories in Canada, Sweden, France and Brazil, where it produces more than 300 million product units each year.

The decision to establish this centre in Barcelona reinforces the city’s position as a hub for foreign companies in the life sciences sector, which is highly strategic and currently makes up 8% of the Catalan GDP.
