The Catalan GDP grew 0.9% in the third quarter of 2024, showing solid growth of 3.8% year-on-year. This is 0.4% higher than the Spanish economy as a whole for the same period (3.4%). This data is from the Statistical Institute of Catalonia (Idescat).

This growth in the GDP for the third quarter is due to positive results in all sectors, particularly services (4.4%) and industry (4.3%). Additionally, construction is up 2.9% and agriculture continues with its recovery that started earlier this year, up 14.4%.

Regarding the services sector, its growth has been thanks to the hospitality sector, followed by retail, computer services, legal services, transport services, motor-vehicle sales and insurance services. In terms of industry, growth is mainly from the pharmaceutical and food and beverages industries.
