Freudenberg invests 11 million euros in Catalonia to modernize automotive production
Investment to modernize its automotive components factory in Parets del Vallès, Barcelona.
The German industrial group Freudenberg has renewed its commitment to Catalonia through an investment of 11 million euros to modernize its automotive components factory in Parets del Vallès, Barcelona.
The new facility, recently inaugurated, operates with renewable energy and cutting-edge technology, including artificial intelligence. With 6,800 square meters and 171 employees, it specializes in shock absorber seals and steering components.
The modernization will increase production by 15%, generating about 30 million euros annually. The project received 200,000 euros of aid from the Government through ACCIÓ. The president of the Generalitat, Pere Aragonès, and the Minister of Business, Roger Torrent, attended the inauguration.
Based in Baden Wurttemberg, the family-owned company had a global turnover of 11,753 million euros in 2022, operating in 60 countries with more than 51,000 employees. Apart from the automotive industry, Freudenberg owns the Vileda brand and is present in lubricants, chemicals and medical devices. Its Spanish subsidiary had a turnover of 342 million in 2022 through various subsidiaries.
