In October, Catalan exports amounted to 8.57 billion euros, registering a year-on-year increase of 8.3%, according to the Spanish Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism.

The main export sectors were chemicals (2,450 million euros, +8.8%), capital goods (1,340 million euros, -1%), and food, beverages and tobacco (1,290 million euros, +9.7 %). Despite the general drop in Spanish exports by 2.4%, Catalonia represented 26.5% of the national total.

Catalan exports accumulated from January to October reached 85,000 million euros, reflecting an increase of 9.7% compared to the previous year.
