  • The company will invest 24 million euros in the new logistics center in Sant Esteve Sesrovires.
  • The center will centralize the company’s distribution in Catalonia, the Valencian Community and the Balearic Islands

Goodman, a company specializing in investment management and development in the real estate industry, has broken ground on a new 40,000-m2 logistics center for Decathlon in Sant Esteve Sesrovires, Barcelona. The company will invest 24 million euros in the project.

Decathlon, a company that designs, sells and distributes sporting goods, will use this new space to combine the two regional distribution centers they currently have in Martorell and Vilafranca into one platform serving 20 shops.

The new distribution center will centralize distribution for Catalonia, the Valencian Community and the Balearic Islands, which were previously served by the center in Madrid, and allow Decathlon to expand their presence in the area. Goodman selected Sant Esteve Sesrovires, in the Can Margarit industrial park, for its easy access to important road networks, including the AP-7 and A-2 motorways.

This new facility will include numerous eco-friendly features in the building, like motion-sensor lighting and natural light, rainwater collection systems and extra insulation. The total floor space will be roughly 60,000 square meters.

Decathlon, which belongs to the Oxylane Group, has been present in Spain since 1992 and currently has a network of 100 points of sale and seven logistics centers. Around the world, they are present in 18 markets with more than 700 shops.
